- The citizens of the United States of America elected a new president, the first African-American president, or his he half African-American half-whole American, or Kenyon-Kansan-Hawaiian-not-so-African-American? I think he recently referred to himself as a mutt, let's go with that one (no disrespect intended here for those of you who need clarity). Come to think of it, aren't we all mutts? No matter who you voted for the Bible tells us to be in prayer for our leaders and our country so get to it. There's a whole slew of American corporations who are living on a prayer so to speak (some disrespect is intended here for those of you who need clarity, but not to praying, I'm referring to the corporations).
- My daughter celebrated her very first birthday! She had a great time with family and friends last Saturday. It's amazing to reflect on how much a baby learns in his or her first year of life. To think that this time last year I essentially had a breathing glow worm (that's what I called Emma when she was first born and was swaddled all the time) for a daughter, we've come a long way. Today she calls me Momma, walks on her own, eats the same food I do and tells me when she wants more, drinks whole milk and has a personality fitting a child born to Troy and Sabrina Henderson. We're having a great time with her.
- Troy celebrated his 28th birthday. Ha, ha, he'll be 30 before me. and no matter what age we are, I'll always be younger.
- Through the most unusual person I connected with an old college buddy and am excited to meet his family and for him to meet mine. It's surreal to talk about babies and spouses with someone you once had conversations with that consisted of term papers, study sessions assisted by red bull, other adult beverages and where the next gathering time and place would be.
- We had our cable disconnected because we feel the money could be spent on something more meaningful, like food for families who need it.
- I made my very first home-made loaf of banana-nut bread for my husband. Watch out Betty Crocker!
- I joined a gym with Amber. Be in prayer about this one...I HATE the gym. Our workouts may however make entertaining blogs so stay tuned.
- And last, I've recently been reminded by my wise, and almost 30 year old husband, that it's not man's judgment I should be concerned with, but rather God's. Read this one again people and I'll end this entry on that note.

3 weeks later
It's been a while since I've blogged. I have several topics I've wanted to write about, but the past few weeks have been a series of mechanical routines compounded by some relentless thoughts I can't seem to work out neatly enough to form sentences. None-the-less the world has passed me and some pretty exciting things have occurred these past several weeks:
